How I get the personal information and why I have it
Most of the personal information I process is provided directly by a funeral home for the purpose of contacting you regarding the planning of a funeral service/memorial service or internment of ashes.
I also receive personal information indirectly, if a family member or friend has passed your number or details on so I can speak to you.
I use the information that I am given in order to arrange a funeral service and maintain contact with a family for a short period.
I may share this information with the Funeral Directors who are working on your behalf or the crematorium/cemetery which I am working with on your behalf.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:

How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored on my password protected computer or in a notebook at home, which is stored securely. My computer has a password which only I know.
I keep email address, addresses, names and phone numbers for 3 months after I have finished working with you. I will then erase your information by deleting the emails from the funeral directors and yourself and also any other personal information from my email account and safely shred any paperwork I may have with your details on.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
